Welcome to this web page about our Miniature Labradoodles bred in Condobolin NSW at “Nyora”
On the 1st of July 1994 we bred Wally and became the first people in the world to breed miniature Labradoodles. I discuss how I came to this decision on the page why labradoodles. We breed miniature Labradoodles by crossing male Toy or Miniature Poodles with female Labrador Retrievers. We have chosen to use the small poodles because the two breeds have very few genetic problems in common and because the dogs are medium sized and so suit a wide range of situations.
Many breeders are now breeding Labradoodles into a new breed. They are bred from Labrador Poodle cross dogs which are often backcrossed to poodles and selected for non shedding coats like our Backcross Labradoodles. Some breeders have used unrelated breeds such as Cocker Spaniels, Curly Coated Retrievers and Irish Water Spaniels in their breeding programs. In spite of some apparent controversy in the purebred Labradoodle world, “Pedigreed” Labradoodles will no doubt one day be “recognised” as a breed and if you are interested in the development of Labradoodles as a breed I recommend the goldendoodle website for an excellent independent introduction to reputable breeders.
For many years I bred only gold labradoodles but we now have black and chocolate Poodles and Labradors and have black, silver and chocolate puppies available as well as our traditional range of gold coloured dogs. If you refer to photographs pages you will see pictures of dogs of various colours and coat lengths and types, as well as happy family shots – a tiny selection of the photographs my owners have sent me over the years.
Our Labradoodles are bred with the intention of becoming family pets. They will not suit every family. In recognition of this we do breed small numbers of other crossbreds and we will always try to give honest advice regarding which dogs are likely to suit you. We aim to produce happy pets and satisfied owners.
Puppies, like people, are partly a product of their genes and partly a product of their environment. To grow up into happy well adjusted dogs, pups must be socialised properly. Our pups are carefully socialised up to 8 weeks and come with a manual which gives an introduction to understanding dog behaviour, tips on how to deal with house training . A copy of this booklet will soon be able to be purchased on this website.
Because of the interest in Labradoodles from allergy sufferers I have prepared a page giving as much information on allergies as I can on my dogs with some links to sites discussing allergies to dogs. On my links page you will find links to sites which I feel are useful, to the home pages of some of our offspring and also links to other labradoodle sites which I believe will help you to obtain independent information about these dogs. If you like what you see on our site and are interested in ordering a pup or you wish to obtain current information on cost, delivery details and availability please visit the enquiry page. Puppies are sold with a guarantee that veterinary expenses up to the purchace price of the pup will be paid if congenital or genetic health problems occur within the first 2 years. Because not all dogs suit all situations we give a 50% refund of the purchase price if the pup is returned within 6 months because he does not suit for any reason.
As a final note Net Maintain have given me great service in managing this web site and they are not to be held responsible for the format not changing in 10 years – it looks the same but works much better! Thank you for visiting our site – I hope you enjoy it and that, even if you decide against one of my puppies, I have helped your thinking about dog ownership. Kate |
