Black Dogs are very hard to photograph but many owners have done
their best.
The fine looking pup on the right is Arthur Sinnot and below are
photos of Jake Black at about 9 weeks and 5 months. Both these
dogs are solid black. Most of our black puppies these days are
backcross dogs.

The
dog above is Henry. He started life as a very smooth coated
puppy - very "Lab
like" but at 15 months he had still grown into a "shaggy dog". |
Two dogs below are both "silver" which
is the poodle term for a gene which produces premature graying. Cindy is a typical
shaggy
doodle graying at the muzzle.
This silver colour can
affect just the muzzle or can change the colour of the
whole body. Puppies are born black and change colour as
they grow. Bonnie is a woolly silver 'doodle with much more marked
gray. |

April Fernandez (below) is actually wearing a very fetching tiara and is growing brown whiskers.

This puppy is showing silver colouring as early as 6 weeks. Many pups don't start to
show silvering until much later.

This is Rookie
Glassman in Vermont. Rookie is also growing brown whiskers. Rookie's
beautiful little friend is called Anna.
The colour variations in dark
coloured labradoodles presumably comes from their poodle parents
since labs are all solid coloured dogs. |
